Dave Wilkie
My name is Dave Wilkie. Originally from a science background, I’ve worked in several university departments but I was always looking for more exciting pastimes. I spent years backpacking around the world studying languages along the way. I can still get by in 3 or 4 of them. Then I spent 12 years as a full time parachute instructor before finding my niche as an ESL tutor. It may sound strange to some people but I love grammar. Pronunciation and accents also intrigue me. These days I do a lot of IELTS preparation as well as General English tuition.
Tyler Gates
G'day! I'm Tyler. I am Canadian/Australian. My parents grew up in French Canada. I grew up in Hong Kong. I have lived in New Zealand, the UK, China, Phnom Penh and Sydney. I have travelled widely and taught ESL in Sydney, Hong Kong and in Guangdong Province in China.
I have over five years experience in teaching classes, small groups and individuals at all levels of ESL. These include EAP, IELTS, EPHS, HSP, English for Hospitality, and General English from Elementary to Advanced levels, pronunciation and accent reduction, pace, prosody, spoken English, and literacy for native speakers. I have taught many different nationalities from Mongolians to Peruvians, speak Intermediate French, gutter Cantonese, and have a enduring love of languages.
I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Linguistics from Sydney University (2004), a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland (2002), studied cross-institutionally at the University of Technology, Sydney (1999 – 2002) and am currently studying my Masters.
Marina Klose
My name is Marina Klose. I have taught English to students from all backgrounds since 2004. A Bachelor in Teaching (Deakin University) and CELTA are my qualifications and I speak Japanese and German. I am teaching part-time at RMIT and Chisholm Institute assessing and training students in Language and Literacy and IELTS preparation. I have a real passion for teaching and love seeing students learning and achieving their own personal goals!
Sue Sullivan
Able to meet your needs from fluency to grammar use, from writing to reading comprehension, from IELTS preparation to general communicative English, my name is Sue Sullivan and I have over 19 years of experience teaching ESL & EFL in Australia, N.Z., Oman and Japan. Currently living in Melbourne, I hold a masters in TESOL/Linguistics (USQ), and another in Creative Arts (creative writing – UOW). My Bachelor of Arts is in creative writing and literature (Curtin University). I also have my CELTA.
In addition to teaching, I have also worked in the multi-cultural tourism and hospitality industry, and in banking.

Anna Holden
My name is Anna Holden. Melbourne is my home town, but I have always enjoyed travelling and meeting people from around the world. I have studied Linguistics and German, am CELTA trained and have a Graduate Diploma of Education (Monash). My particular areas of interest are pronunciation, accent reduction, Business English and Cross Cultural Training. More recently I have begun tutoring in the area of IELTS preparation. Over my teaching career I have taught in secondary schools and the Adult Education Sector both in Australia and overseas (Germany and Korea). I feel very privileged to be able to assist learners from so many different cultural backgrounds in their acquisition of the English Language.
Julia Wakefield
I have worked as an English language tutor in Adelaide for nearly five years, since completing my TESOL certificate. I teach all levels, specialising in advanced English and preparation for IELTS.
I grew up in the UK and returned to England while my children were young, before settling in Adelaide in 2001, so I have had experience in helping a young family adjust to a different culture. I have an MA in English Literature and Art, and also teach drawing at the Hahndorf Academy where I work as an artist/printmaker. I enjoy learning about other languages and am currently studying Chinese.
